Throughout the editing process, the director and I focused on conveying the priest’s complex sense of shame and longing. We used crossfades to subtly illustrate his internal conflict, allowing the transitions to reflect how heavily these emotions weigh on him. Because the project was shot on analog film, it was also my first experience monitoring physical film stock in real time and making on-the-fly calculations to ensure we had enough runtime to capture every planned shot.
