Taylor Hurd is an aspiring musician and singer/songwriter. To support her, I offered to create a visual brand. I chose to make a small vector animation of a moth, an icon suggested by the client, and then designed business cards revolving around the same imagery as the animation. Part of the symbolism for the animation comes from Taylor's message of "soft tone, sharp words." While a simplistic moth design, it transfers color to a new source, as Taylor's musicality transforms her adversity-filled life into song for others to resonate with.
With this project being my first animation, it was a a bit challenge navigating a new project. I knew I'd be working with vector-based software so I developed the visual assets in Illustrator composing the flying sequence. Then, I centered aligned all of the moth frames and exported them as PNGS and on individual them art boards. Ready to animated, I complied the PNGS into to Premiere Pro.
